Shocking Chris Brown Rape Story

Mbau made the shocking revelation to a Christian magazine. “When Chris Brown was here I created a story that drew so much attention, not only in South Africa but internationally as well! (...) That story was not true – I’ve never even met the guy but it was a way to get more attention,” Mbau said in the magazine.Posecutor Zola Majavu, who was also quoted in a Sunday newspaper supporting the allegations has since denied ever saying anything to support Mbau’s allegations. “I cannot make a statement to support someone who has never been my client.

“What I remember is that Malcom X (Mbau’s ex-manager) called me some time last year saying one of his artists, Khanyi Mbau, had been sexually harassed by Brown (...) I told him to set up an appointment with Khanyi, which he never did(...) I didn’t follow up because I don’t go after clients; clients come to me,” Majavu was quoted as saying.

He says he never acted for Mbau and does not know her. “And I don’t know Brown either,” says Majavu.

However, in a new twist to the saga, a local paper has quoted Malcom X insisting that the incident took place. “It was sometime in July or August at Club Taboo in Sandton,” says Malcom X. He insists he witnessed the incident. “Brown grabbed Khanyi by her hand and pulled her close to him. When she was close he grabbed her breast. I had to intervene,” says Malcom X.

According to the reports, Malcom X insists Mbau changed the statement because her husband Mandla Mthembu ordered her to retract it. “He threatened not to buy her the Lamborghini when she refused,” says Malcom X.

Last month police sources told a US newspaper that pop singer Rihanna was the victim of an alleged assault by her boyfriend Brown. Both singers cancelled their appearance at the Grammy awards, after Brown had voluntarily reported to Los Angeles police.

He's Just Not That Into You- Movie

Are women desperate or just desperately stupid? This is the misogynist question at the core of He's Just Not That Into You, a women-bashing tract disguised as a chick flick. I mean really, will women actually line up this weekend to see themselves treated as pawns in a man's stupid game? I hope not. This toxic wisp of a movie is based on a toxic wisp of a book by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo that was itself based on a toxic wisp of a throwaway line they wrote for TV's Sex and the City. Be careful — the movie attempts to look harmless. Check out the film's narrator Gigi, played by too-smart-for-the-part Ginnifer Goodwin, who is so good on HBO's Big Love. There's perky Gigi mooning over a decidedly uninterested real-estate tool named Conor (Kevin Connolly) while taking condescending relationship advice from Conor's bartender pal Alex (Justin Long).

As far as I can tell, the fact that Conor and Alex have jobs is their one claim to being attractive. Yet Gigi salivates over both of them. Yikes. Conor is treated badly by hottie yoga teacher and wannabe singer Anna (Scarlett Johansson). That would make Anna seem smart, except there she is coming on to married guy Ben (Bradley Cooper), whose wife, Janine (Jennifer Connelly), thinks he's a secret smoker and doesn't sleep with him, preferring to decorate their Baltimore home. Women, they just love decorating, and shopping. Sex, not so much. Janine's friend Beth (Jennifer Aniston) has her own obsession: getting married. Jeez, seven years have gone by and her live-in love Neil (Ben Affleck) is still allergic to walking down the aisle. Wouldn't real women dump these jerks in a heartbeat? What year is this?

The best clue that it's right now comes from Drew Barrymore as Mary, a victim of the MySpace/Facebook age who bemoans being rejected by men using five different technologies. The single time I laughed during this movie came when Mary defined dating as computer chatting while boy and girl—in separate pumpkin shells—both sipped lattes. Believe me, it's worse than it sounds. Director Ken Kwapis, who has inflicted License to Wed and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants on unsuspecting moviegoers, drags out the script by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein for a punishing two hours and ten minutes. Here's a true S&M date movie. Only sadistic men and masochistic women could love it.

Chris and Rihanna Back Together?

Could Rihanna and on-again/off-again beau Chris Brown really be spending time together just three weeks after his arrest?

People reports the singers are at one of Sean "Diddy" Combs' homes on Miami Beach's Star Island. "They care for each other," a source tells the magazine. "While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves."

Brown was accused of attacking a woman and booked for making criminal threats in the early hours before the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. Rihanna, who along with Brown canceled performances for the Feb. 8 show, was widely reported to be involved in the case, though police have not identified the woman.

Brown, who has not been charged, said he was "sorry and saddened" a week after his arrest. "I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones, and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person," Brown said in a statement.

Rihanna has not commented on Brown's arrest, but thanked fans a week ago for the support "she has received during this difficult time."

Brown reportedly reached out to Rihanna for the first time since his arrest on Feb. 18 - her 21st birthday.

Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty, tells Us of the apparent reconciliation, "I love my daughter with whatever road she takes. I'm behind her win or lose. I will be supportive. If that's the road she wants to choose, I'm behind her."

Tyrese Gibson Estranged Wife Fights Back

Norma Gibson, estranged wife of singer/actor Tyrese Gibson has filed a response to her soon-to-be ex hubby's divorce declaration. In new court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, Norma states, "The short length of the marriage, which Petitioner cites ad nauseaum, is irrevelant--how much money Petitioner earned during the short marriage is the relevant issue. He earned roughly $800k during the ten months of marriage."

Norma takes Tyrese to task for not visiting their daughter Shayla, "Persons in the entertainment industry always seem to have a fascinating ability to characterize their life choices as somehow different, more important and not a matter of choice, but a "requirement," entitling them to special rules and considerations."

The divorce documents also outline how unreasonable it would for Norma to be expected to leave this marriage with no money, "a single mother with no family or friends, with effectively no funds whatsoever, to simply walk away from potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars simply because it is Petitioner's position she must do so."

The next hearing is on March 2nd.

Drew Barrymore to Direct Third Twilight?

Drew Barrymore knows a thing or two about extraterrestrials so vampires shouldn't be too much of a stretch.

The E.T. actress is in talks to direct Eclipse, the third entry in the Twilight franchise.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Barrymore is among the top choices to follow in the footsteps of Catherine Hardwicke, who helmed Twilight, and Chris Weitz, who's about to start filming the first sequel, New Moon.

Hardwicke opted out of the franchise because she felt she didn't have enough breathing room to do the follow-up justice. And because of producer Summit Entertainment's tight release schedule—New Moon is set for a Nov. 20, 2009 release and Eclipse just six months later, on June 30, 2010—Weitz will be in post-production on New Moon while Eclipse is filming.

Barrymore has just wrapped her feature-directing debut with Whip It!, starring Ellen Page.

A rep for Barrymore declined to comment on the report.

Meanwhile, in the day's other big movie news:

Antonio Banderas has been wooed for Woody Allen's next project, per Variety, joining an all-star ensemble that includes Slumdog Millionaire's Freida Pinto, Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins. As usual, the Oscar-winning auteur is keeping a tight lid on the plot of the untitled flick, which starts shooting this summer in London.

Returning to his stand-up roots for the first time in seven years, Robin Williams will do a brief five-night residency at Broadway's Neil Simon Theater April 28-May 3 as part of his latest solo show, Weapons of Self-Destruction. The funnyman kicked off an 80-city trek earlier this month in Santa Barbara.

Per the Hollywood Reporter, Seth Green has signed on to star in Disney's Mars Needs Moms, the Robert Zemeckis-produced CGI adaptation of Berkeley Breathed's children's book about a boy who stows away aboard a UFO to save his mom (Joan Cusack) from a bunch of ETs. Death, the final reality TV show

STAFF REPORTER

Note: This article has been edited from a previously published version to correct details about the terms of Jack Tweed's prison release.

Reality TV and the gutter press made Jade Goody an oft-reviled object of fascination in the U.K. They made her rich. Now they are raising her up again just in time to watch her die.

Last weekend, Goody, a 27-year-old single mother of two, married her 21-year-old boyfriend. He was released from prison in January and his curfew conditions were relaxed to allow the couple to spend their wedding night together. Since she is succumbing to terminal cervical cancer, she sat through much of the ceremony. Photo rights for the event fetched a reported $1.25 million.

Since Survivor brought voyeurism into the mainstream, we've watched several of the reality genre's instant stars stumble. Arrests, breakdowns, tax problems, jail sentences – they've all greased the tabloid wheel. But Goody breaks new ground. She's the first to be hounded right into her grave.

An aggressively foul-mouthed product of council estate housing, Goody first came to public notice in 2002 on the British edition of the reality show Big Brother. Her colossal ignorance of English geography (she thought the city of Cambridge was in London; told it was in East Anglia, she assumed that "East Angular" was a foreign country) and love of strong drink made her a laughingstock. The papers took one look at her wide, pretty face and dubbed her "Miss Piggy." She was cast off the show, presumably back to her day job as a dental assistant.

But Goody also showed an instinctive ability to turn notoriety into a business opportunity. Few reality stars in any corner of the world have made so much with so little.

Pitching herself at a fame-obsessed young underclass, Goody created a hugely successful personal brand. She released a perfume, a series of fitness DVDs and an autobiography. Her earnings have been estimated as high as $20 million. She clung doggedly to the spotlight by appearing on a half-dozen other reality shows.

The secret to her hold on the public imagination seems to have been her penchant for behaving badly. Goody brawled in pubs and posed topless. She had screaming public rows with the father of her two children (another reality TV star) and jumped in bed with castmates. After each misstep, she would relive the event for the gossip columns.

Whenever public interest seemed in danger of waning, Goody went to greater and greater lengths to reingratiate herself. She ran the London marathon in 2006, collapsing after 33 km of the 42.2-km race. The would-be fitness instructor later admitted that she'd only taken four training runs. She drafted her handicapped mother to co-star with her in another reality show.

In 2007, her reputation as a hedonistic buffoon took a darker twist. She was involved in a racially tinged altercation with Indian actor Shilpa Shetty while appearing on Celebrity Big Brother. British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, who was visiting India when the footage aired, was forced to issue an apology to the Indian people. The same Britons who'd made Goody a tabloid star gleefully turned on her.

In an attempt to salvage her image, Goody agreed to star on Bigg Boss, the Indian version of Big Brother. Last August, only two days into filming, she was informed that she had cervical cancer.

Four million Indian viewers watched her face fall as she was given the news onscreen.

Though she had only a 40 per cent chance of recovery, Goody agreed to star in a television serial documenting her cancer battle. On Thursday, she learned that the disease has spread to her liver, bowel and groin.

Doctors have reportedly given up trying to cure her.

The tragic turn to Goody's story has provoked hand-wringing in the mainstream British media, who'd adopted her as an all-purpose punchline. "I am devastated. I am angry," Goody told The Sun, hours after learning that her chances of recovery are virtually nil.

"I don't want to die because I have so much to live for."

Lil Wayne Gun Case Goes To Trial

Lil' Wayne will be headed to court this spring as a judge has scheduled a trial date for the rapper's felony gun possession case and admitted a weapon as evidence.

The long-awaited decision was made on Tuesday (February 24).

A New York City judge says a handgun found on rapper Lil Wayne's tour bus can be used as evidence at his trial. Justice Charles Solomon set April 20 as the hip-hopper's trial date. (The Associated Press)

One of Weezy's assistants testified in a New York court last fall saying he "occasionally" saw guns and drugs on the rapper's tour bus.

Wayne's assistant Terry Bourgeois took the stand yesterday (October 19) in regards to the case, to address whether or not he believed there was a gun on the vehicle. Despite saying he had no knowledge of any weapons in the vehicle at the time, Bourgeois did confess to "occasionally" seeing a handgun and people smoking marijuana while on the same tour bus on separate occasions. Although he also said he never saw Wayne in possession of a firearm. (Newsday)

Despite his testimony, the rapper's lawyer previously said police had no right to search the vehicle.

Stacey Richman, appeared in court yesterday (September 10) debunking recent statements made by NY police officer Diane Hornung who testified against the rapper earlier this week. While Hornung claims she noticed marijuana smoke coming from his tour bus following a concert on July 22, 2007, Richman pointed out the officer's distance being an outstanding factor. "She wasn't anywhere near where she said she was [at the time of the incident]," he said. (New York's Daily News)

Weezy originally appeared in court last September at a pre-trial hearing addressing the accusations.

New York police officer Diane Hornung testified that on July 22nd of last year she boarded Weezy's tour bus after identifying marijuana smoke coming from its open door. While on the bus she claims to have seen the rapper (born Dwayne Carter) sitting on a bed and trying to conceal a bag which she said held a loaded .40 caliber handgun. The rapper had just finished performing at a concert at Manhattan's Beacon Theatre.

Snoop On New Variety Show: “Ain’t No Party Like a Snoop Dogg Party”

Snoop Dogg surprised the music industry when he ditched his Interscope Records contract to team up with MTV for his new album, his own Rock Band 2 expansion pack, and his own variety show titled Dogg After Dark. The show kicked off last Tuesday, February 17th, as guests like Pharrell, Katt Williams, Paris Hilton and many more cozied up to Doggfather for the premiere episode. The rapper recently e-mailed Rock Daily with some Doggy wisdom on his upcoming guests, his comedic inspirations, his favorite rappers and who his dream guests would be.

Reasons to just chill, ’til the next episode: The February 24th After Dark features Johnny Knoxville, Girl Next Door Kendra Wilkinson and Ciara, plus a musical performance by Bobby Valentino (check out a clip, above). After that, Snoop hopes to somehow fit an entire football team on his couch. “My dream guest, bein a die hard [Pittsburgh] Steeler fan, would be to host tha whole team and have a party at Dogg After Dark for tha Super Bowl Champs,” Snoop tells Rock Daily, “I was fortunate enough to be invited to their Super Bowl party in Tampa and I wanna exchange the favor with havin them to a Dogg After Dark party. Ain’t no party like a Snoop Dogg Party, cuz a Snoop Dogg party don’t stop, ya dig?!?”

The rapper is no stranger to comedy, racking up roles in Hollywood films like Starsky & Hutch and The Wash and his previous late-night MTV comedy show DoggyFizzle Televizzle. But it’s the shows of his roots that inspired him to launch his own variety show. “I like comedians like Richard Pryor and Redd Foxx — anything that had them on had me watchin’,” says Snoop. “Variety shows then compared to variety shows now were just a lot better, but I’m tryin’ to make sure Dogg After Dark changes that.”

As far as the current rap landscape, Snoop has a positive outlook. “Hip Hop isn’t having a weak moment, it’s just artists aren’t as creative as they once were and people are trying to figure out where do we go from here? It’s not weak,” says Snoop, whose tenth album, Malice In Wonderland is due later this year. “It’s in transition and only going to lead to a bigger and better opening. My favorite rappers out now are Tha Hustle Boyz, Kid Cudi, Young Jeezy, anyone makin’ hits. Some of this shit on tha radio jus’ needs to go away. Ya feel me?”

Ne-Yo: Rihanna “Says She’s Fine,” Chris Brown “Still My Homeboy”

R&B singer-songwriter Ne-Yo said he has spoken to following her alleged assault by boyfriend Chris Brown. Ne-Yo tells MTV that the “Umbrella” singer told him she was “fine” and he hopes to talk with Brown in the near future regarding the situation.

“I wanted to talk to them before I made a comment,” Ne-Yo said. “I spoke to Rihanna. She says she’s fine. She didn’t go into detail about what happened. I understand it’s a painful situation; I didn’t push.” Ne-Yo has ties to both artists, having helped helped co-write Rihanna’s hits “Unfaithful,” “Take A Bow” and their duet “Hate That I Love You,” as well as Brown’s “So Glad.”

“I saw the picture,” Ne-Yo said of the leaked photograph of a battered Rihanna. “That just really hurt me to my heart, man. Again, I still don’t know what happened, ’cause I haven’t had the opportunity to talk to Chris yet. But to take it to that level really hurt my heart. All I can say is, I’m praying for both of them. They’re both in my prayers.”

While Wrigley’s Gum and numerous radio stations have been quick to part ways with Brown, Ne-Yo isn’t as quick to turn his back on an old friend. “I’m not going to crucify him. I’m not going to do that. That’s still my homeboy at the end of the day,” Ne-Yo said. “For it to go to that level was wrong. I won’t say who was responsible. I won’t pick no sides. I’m just saying it was wrong it had to happen like that, and I’m praying for the both of them.”

Chris Brown offered a vague apology in a statement early last week. Rihanna broke her silence last Friday to tell fans she was “doing well.”

Chris Brown Tries to Win Back Rihanna: Report

Chris Brown is desperately trying to win back to affections of girlfriend Rihanna by showering the pop princess he allegedly assaulted with lavish gifts, the New York Daily News reported.

Rihanna and Brown: Romance Gone Awry

Brown sent the R&B songbird a diamond bracelet and necklace and an iPod Touch for her 21st birthday last Friday, but friends say it will take more than a gift-wrapped mea culpa to heal Rihanna's wounds, the paper reported.

Even Brown's mother, Joyce, sent Rihanna a bouquet of flowers.

"He's absolutely trying to get back into her good graces," an insider told the Daily News. "He knows he's very much in the doghouse right now and is doing everything he can to show her how sorry he is."

Rihanna, who was bloodied and bruised in an alleged pre-Grammy night fight with Brown, did not invite her beau to the casino-themed birthday bash she hosted in a rented Hollywood Hills home. But the songstress pined for Brown nonetheless, a source told the paper.

Rihanna is still healing from facial bruises that stem from the alleged pre-Grammy night fight between the singer and Brown on Feb. 7.

Rihanna ‘Pissed Off,’ Calls Brown’s ‘Sorry’ Statement ”Cavalier and Arrogant”

Written by J.R.

A “close friend” of Rihanna has revealed that the pop superstar is “appalled” by Chris Brown’s ‘sorry and saddened‘ statement that the singer released over what happened between him and his girlfriend Rihanna.“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired,” stated Brown in the statement released by his publicist.
“I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person,” he added.

According to the friend of Rihanna, the singer is “royally pissed off” by what Rihanna calls Brown’s “cavalier and arrogant statement.”

“All of us, including Rihanna, don’t understand how he can say he’s sorry on the one hand, but still does not admit any guilt,” the close friend of Rihanna stated to Chicago Sun-Times on Monday. “He should have expressed more contrition.”
This comes around the same time that the singer’s father, Robert Fenty, recently confirmed that the celebrity couple may have called it quits producing the latest controversial celebrity break-up.

“The relationship is over and I am pleased. She doesn’t want to speak to Chris. She is being very brave about things and said that she will be back on stage performing soon,” Ronald Fenty stated to sources.

The break-up between Brown and Rihanna may have first been confirmed by Chris Brown who reportedly changed his Facebook relationship status to single, which he later denied in his statement.

“While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds,” Brown expressed in his statement.

As of yet, there has been no official comments or statement from Rihanna, who, according to her father, has been in her homeland of Barbados since February 12th to be with family and friends taking time to heal.

Brown is scheduled for court March 5th, 2009 and faces possible jail time after being charged by Los Angeles police with making criminal threats following his alleged fight with ex-girlfriend Rihanna around the time of the 51st Grammy Awards, and after a Clive Davis pre-Grammy party.

In connection with this news, Chris Brown has reportedly hired Mel Gibson’s publicist, Alan Nierob, in an effort to limit any further damage to his career from his recent arrest and assault allegations.

Lil Wayne Sued for 1.3 Million

The saying goes, “fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.” For Rochester, New York’s RMF Productions, the third time Lil Wayne canceled on them called for more than embarrassment. According to TMZ, RMF’s General Manager Edward Strickland has filed a lawsuit against Wayne, amounting to $1.3 million.

Strickland, who was the promoter for all three shows, alleges that he wired Wayne an advanced payment of $100,000 last October, but has yet to see any returns after Wayne canceled his performance at the Blue Cross Arena due to a weak sound system. After rescheduling for a December 6 performance, Weezy went missing in action again.

The final straw came on January 21, when Wayne once again stood up Rochester and Strickland, explaining that it was due to “logistics of the band,” via email. Allegedly, Wayne and his band could not all make the Rochester gig as they had to travel to Calgary the next day for their “I Am Music” tour Because the Rochester show was separate from the tour, Wayne and his management decided to skip New York in favor for Canada, with plans to reschedule an extra leg of the tour for spring 2009.

Lil Wayne’s road manager, Cortez Bryant, was also listed in the lawsuit.
